FAQS

  • What’s your minimum and hourly rate?
My minimum is $150 and my hourly rate is $200 per hour.
  • Are you taking new clients and if “Yes” how do I book an appointment?
I’m always taking new clients, to get started in the appointment process I ask all clients to email me, my email is tattoodays@gmail.com from there we will book an in person consultation to get the ball rolling.
  • Is there a deposit required?
I ask all clients for the same amount deposit to schedule for their tattoo at the consultation, as an artist, I cannot move forward with artwork until a $100 deposit is paid to reserve their appointment, I ask for this at the end of our consultation, deposits are non-refundable and go toward the final price of the tattoo.
  • Can you email me the artwork or can I see it in advance before our appointment?
This is a question I get asked a lot and the answer is complicated, bottom line, with the large volume of artwork that is created weekly, it’s simply impossible to have artwork finished early for a client to review, notes are taken and our conversation at the consultation should insure a successful rendering by the day of our appointment, adjustments are always reasonable to ask for.
  • How do I prepare for our tattoo appointment?
Please come to your appointment well fed, well hydrated, and well rested, receiving a tattoo is stressful on our bodies, having a good meal and plenty of water beforehand is crucial to not only our session but healing afterwards, it’s recommended that if your skin is dry to start moisturizing once a day a couple weeks before your appointment, there is no need to shave or wax prior to our appointment as this can irritate the skin, I only ask that if there is a lot of hair, that perhaps a beard trimmer is used to “knock down” the majority, I’ll finish the shaving right before we tattoo.
  • How do I pay for the tattoo?
I take cash, debit/credit cards, Venmo works in a pinch however I prefer cash or cards, either is fine, I do not prefer one over the other, cash or card are both welcome!
  • What are your hours of operation?
That varies depending on the week, I am at the studio when I have booked appointments, I don’t have “walk-in” hours. Two weeks a month I’ll book appointments at 9:30 AM and 12:30 pm, Tuesday through Friday. The other two weeks per month my schedule is much more flexible, I can be available as early as 9:30 AM and work as late as 8:00 PM, Tuesday through Saturday, these are also the weeks I book consultations.
  • Can I use numbing cream?
Numbing creams are an option however I prefer to have a conversation about the pro’s and cons’ of application prior to tattooing. A “patch test” should always be done prior to getting tattooed to make sure the skin doesn’t react in a negative way, anything above 5% lidocaine is never recommended for tattoos and clients should always talk to their artist before using them.
  • Can I bring a friend?
It’s totally fine to bring one person with you for your appointment, more than one other person can be distracting.
  • If Im feeling under the weather can I still get tattooed?
Please, if you are feeling, ill, under the weather, or sick at all, please reschedule your appointment, being in close proximity to your tattooer is sure to get us sick, as self employed people, we do not get paid sick leave and missing several days of work can be a scheduling nightmare and is detrimental to our monthly incomes. For woman on their cycles, receiving a tattoo can also be extra uncomfortable.
